Van Tour

July 1st, 2010 – London to Tours, France.

I decided to tag along with a group of mates who were doing the Van tour. Basically just going with them to Pamplona and then leaving. We leave dreary old London bright and early at about 5:00 in the am to get to Dover in time for our Ferry across at about 8:30.

The ferry ride goes pretty smoothly and we have a beer at the good old time of 9am. Nothing wrong with that. Before we set off into France. Luke was put in charge of the GB sticker that the van needed – he ultimately forgot to bring it down to the car and left it on the ship.

The van is going pretty smoothly for most of the trip. We stop at this little town to find somewhere to eat. And find a supermarket where its insanely cheaper than the motorway fuel stops where they charge a fiver for a sandwich. Unfortunately, Daisy really didn’t like this. She decided that she wanted more of a rest once we got past the toll gates and decided to stop for a bit.

After it decided it was time to restart we made our way to a town called Rouen in France. Its a pretty big sort of town. But we just tried to find a mechanic who knew very little english. Line of the day was ‘it was just going then kaput’. The french man didnt really know that much.

So we decided to haul ass down to Tours for the night before we headed off to Biarritz. At the campsite we chill over 2 minute noodles and a few beers.
